The Friends of the Library is an independent non-profit organization that supports the Greenwood-Leflore Libraries through advocacy, fundraising, and volunteering. Tax ID 46-4335794
We hold quarterly meetings in the months of January, April, July, and October on the third Thursday of these months at 5:30pm.
Membership is open to all individuals, families, businesses and groups who support the purposes of our organization.

The purposes of our organization areĀ
- To create public interest in the Greenwood-Leflore Public Library System, inclusive of all its branches, and herein also referred to as the Library, and to represent it to the community.
- To promote the growth, development, and greatest possible use of the Greenwood-Leflore Public Library System.
- To enrich the Library’s resources through funds derived from membership and special projects; to encourage gifts of books and other publications which will be compatible with the objective of the Library; and to encourage endowments, bequests, sponsorships, and act as partners in grant applications.
